Oak Park’s favorite spring street festival, What's Blooming on Harrison, is returning to the Oak Park Arts District. This year's festival is on Saturday, May 20, from 11am-7pm and spans Harrison Street from Humphrey to Highland. The Craft Beer Garden and Main Stage will keep rocking until 9pm.

Started in 1999, the festival has grown over the years to include an art fair, local business and non-profit booths, food vendors, a children's carnival, an art raffle, a craft beer garden, and an entertainment stage.

This year, the beer garden will be pouring craft beers from local favorite Kinslahger Brewing Company. “We are thrilled to be having Kinslahger beers at What’s Blooming this year. It’s awesome to have such an amazing brewery also be a great neighbor! We have loved them even before they were named one of the nation's best local breweries by Travel + Leisure,” said Trevor Toppen, festival committee member and owner of Val’s halla Records.

The entertainment stage will feature family programming from 11am-2pm and will include performances from Ovation Academy, Oak Park String Academy, The Actors Garden, Pro Musica Youth Chorus, and other local student musicians.

Val's halla Records has put together an exciting lineup for the Main Stage that will perform after the family programming until 9pm. The acts will include The Crombies, whose single-minded mission is to make rollinking, good-time 2 Tone music. “Get your dancing shoes on!” said Annette Coffee, Marketing Coordinator for the Oak Park Arts District Business Association.

There will be a silent auction for incredible one of a kind art from Ken Reif, Karen Schuman (Dancing Krow), Kim Humphrey (Bead in Hand), Janice Elkins and other local artists.

The artwork for this year's promotional materials was inspired by original art by local artist Annette Zwierzchowski Donlin.
